Liberad a Morgan #freemorgan
(ENGLISH VERSION BELOW)

UPDATE: On November 1st there will be a new trial in the Netherlands regarding the situation of Morgan. We want to get 100.000 signatures in order to convince the authorities to free Morgan and let him reunite with his family.
In June 2010, the killer whale named Morgan, 4 year old female, was found weak and wounded in the Waden Sea, on the coast of Holland. She was rescued and sent to the local dolphinarium in Harderwijk, provisionally, where after his recovery, was exhibited to the public. A group of scientists and researchers specialized in cetaceans joined to form the Free Morgan Group, and began a fight to prevent Morgan being sent to a water park, and instead to be returned to the wild with his family group. This group developed and presented a comprehensive rehabilitation plan to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Netherlands and the dolphinarium where Morgan was living: http://bit.ly/tkOjLG
The Dutch Ministry did not consider the plan and decided to keep Morgan captive in dolphinarium. A court in Amsterdam ruled that Morgan should be transferred from the Netherlands to Tenerife Loro Parque zoo to remain in captivity and be displayed to the public.
Experts say there is a serious risk to health and welfare of Morgan. In captivity, orcas significantly reduce survival rate (from 50 years or more of life expectancy free to 8 years in captivity), considerably reduce their reproductive success, and stress can lead to aggression towards peers and coaches, causing serious illness and even death. We must not forget that a wild animal is born free, so keep it under these conditions is sudden change in lifestyle.
It would be tragic for Morgan and his community that she is condemned to remain in captivity and in an artificial pool for the rest of her life and thereby close the door on any possibility of returning to nature and meet his family. Since Morgan was born free, is a healthy animal and is ready to return to his group and request your free transfer immediately so you can take out the rehabilitation plan for reintroduction to their families. Help us ask the Dutch authorities to release Morgan!
